Who qualifies?
Your property must be in England or Wales and have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
The system must replace an old fossil fuel or electric heating system (like gas, oil, or storage heaters).
Biomass boilers are only eligible for homes off the gas grid in rural areas, but heat pumps have no such restrictions.
Self-builds are eligible; new-builds and social housing are not.
You can still apply if you’ve had other upgrades like insulation funded separately.
